The Casa gardens come alive in the summertime, providing the perfect backdrop for the annual summer art exhibition and garden fair. This year’s fundraiser Feria Andalusia, provided the opportunity for guests to meet some of Santa Barbara’s finest artists while preserving the history and supporting the work of the organization.

Guests enjoyed tapas provided by Jessica  Knight Catering while listening to the sounds of James Campbell and his band. Loquita Santa Barbara prepared paella onsite in enormous paella pans, and meat was cooked to the delight of guests on Steedman’s signature grill.

Event co-chairs Emily Jones and Bryan Goligoski.

“While the original owner George Fox Steedman was an industrialist, he was also a silversmith and artisan. His wife Carrie was very interested in gardens and won awards for her beautiful flower arrangements,” said Casa Executive Director Jessica Tade. “It seems only fitting that we would continue their interest in the arts by inviting local artists to exhibit at our summer event.”

The event raised more than $90,000, thanks in part to generous donors and sponsors as well as the artists who donated a portion of their art sales proceeds back to the Casa. “I am so grateful to all of our event supporters,” said Jessica. “Our summer event is all about the passion we have for our architectural heritage, the inspiration we draw from our local artists, and the feeling of connection we share as a community.”
