Public Tours
Casa del Herrero’s eleven-acre estate is open for public tours from mid-February to mid-November. Trained Docents interpret the history of the Steedman home, gardens, and workshop. Docent-led tours for adults and children age 10 and above are scheduled Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and last approximately 90 minutes. Admission is $20 per person. Group Tours
Groups of ten or more may book reservations Tuesday through Saturday, mid-February through mid-November. Tour times are 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Reservations are booked in advance, and a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the date. The final balance is due 30 days prior to the tour date. Both the deposit and final payment are non-refundable. Visa or MasterCard is accepted. Due to our Conditional Use Permit, we are unable to accommodate large buses. Mini-coaches (capacity of 24 or fewer) are acceptable. Guests are encouraged to carpool whenever possible due to restricted parking (maximum of 10 cars). Holiday Tours
Although our regular tour season runs from mid-February to mid-November, it’s become a Casa del Herrero tradition to offer a limited number of Holiday Tours during the month of December.
Visiting the Casa when it’s all dressed and ready for the festive season is a wonderful way to don the holiday spirit. Visitors are invited to enjoy a cup of hot spiced cider as they tour the gardens and get a glimpse of how a Montecito Christmas in the 1930’s might have looked. Reservations
To schedule a tour or request a brochure, please call the Visitor Coordinator at 805-565-5653 Monday through Saturday between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE NECESSARY FOR ALL TOURS, including all levels of membership admission. Casa del Herrero accepts payment in the form of MasterCard or Visa at the time of booking. Confirmation will be mailed or sent electronically prior to your scheduled tour with information, a map and directions. Admission fees are strictly nonrefundable. However, if a tour must be canceled, with at least 24 hours notification the Casa does allow for one rescheduling within the calendar year.
